How Floya has evolved over the last year

Let’s look back to the highlights

Your favourite app turns 1! You may have noticed quite a few changes since its launch in September 2023. And there’s more to come, as Floya is constantly evolving

Also, don’t miss our birthday action, where you could win a mobility pack worth €100!

Your taxis in the app

A year ago, your shared mobility options were limited to bikes, kick scooters and cars. A month later, you discovered the first major update: the option to estimate the price of your taxi ride and order your Taxis Verts directly in the app.

A 3rd bike brand… x2

Not so long ago, you only had access to Dott bikes and the availability of Villo! bikes. But TIER bikes quickly joined the fun.

A few months later, the cards got reshuffled: TIER merged with Dott. Not to worry, Bolt bikes and kick scooters were added to your app. So you now have access to two types of fare: per minute and per kilometre.

Display of dropzones

At the beginning of 2024, dropzones became mandatory in Brussels. Users had to adapt quickly, and Floya integrated the new dropzones into the app.

The display varies from one operator to another: a blue circle for Dott and a blue rectangle with a “P” for Bolt.

1-click payment

A few months later, Bancontact was introduced to the app to offer an extra payment method. This addition comes with a major new feature: 1-click payment.

All you have to do is link your bankcard to your account only once. After that, you can pay simply by clicking on “Buy”, “Unlock” or “Book”, with no further confirmation required.

This system is being extended to ticket purchases with Visa and Mastercard.

Fixes and improvements

In between major updates, the app is constantly evolving, whether to correct minor bugs, improve search results or make the display more user-friendly.

For example: the bright green of the map has been softened at the request of users. At the same time, we have improved the contrast and readability, so that everyone can benefit from the new display.

We encourage you to share your comments and update your app regularly to enjoy the best possible experience.

What’s next?

Curious about what’s coming next? Before long, you‘ll see what station access you should use when planning a trip with the metro (or tram).

Villo! should also be fully integrated, which means you’ll be able to unlock your bike at the station and pay for your journey directly in the Floya app.
